Congratulations to Hossein Ebrahimi for Defending His Candidacy

Congratulations to Hossein Ebrahimi for defending his candidacy. Hossein joined to COSMOS Lab at Fall 2016 as the first PhD student of the COSMOS Lab. He is currently a PhD student at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Central Florida. He does research in Solid Mechanics, Bioinspired Metamaterial and Computational Mechanics. His current project is focusing on “biomimetic scales” to address the mechanical behavior of dermal scales found in nature under different mechanical properties to develop a new metamaterial with tailorable mechanical properties. He also works on FEM simulation of materials working in high temperature conditions such as “Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs)” and “Carbon Matrix Composites (CMCs)”.
