Biography

Dr. Ranajay Ghosh is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and the Center for Advanced Turbine and Energy Research (CATER) at the University of Central Florida, Orlando FL. He earned his PhD from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York (2010) in the department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, where he was awarded the Harriet-Davis graduate school fellowship. His research focus is on mechanics of solids, composite and architected materials, and scientific computing. As a graduate student he was a research intern at General Electric’s Global Research Center at Niskayuna, New York. He was awarded GE’s global reward and recognition award for outstanding performance.  He completed his undergraduate education at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in Mechanical Engineering in 2004, where he was a finalist for the best undergraduate thesis award.
