The month of March is Women’s History Month, and to honor the women who have shaped UCF, Faculty Excellence celebrates 31 women from across the university — one for each day of the month.
This year, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Associate Lecturer Tian Tian is among the 2019 Women’s History Month Awardees. She is the only faculty member from the College of Engineering and Computer Science to be included in this year’s selection.
Tian Tian joined the faculty of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in 2013. She received her Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 2011. She received her bachelor’s degree in heating, ventilating, and air conditioning engineering from Qingdao Institute of Architecture and Engineering in 2003.
Over the years, Tian has received several awards from the university and the College of Engineering and Computer Science for her teaching and advising, including the Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Teaching Incentive Award.
Tian is the second woman from MAE to be recognized during UCF’s Women’s History Month celebration. Associate Professor Seetha Raghavan was among the list of 2018 awardees.
